About
As a psychologist, Dr Peters views psychological well-being from a holistic approach in accordance with the definition of the World Health Organisation (WHO), which states that “health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity” (2006).
In accordance with this definition, her practice renders services focused on both minimising pathology and optimising mental health. Her practice services a wide range of clients and life stages, including toddlers, children, adolescents, adults and elderly patients. She consults in both Afrikaans and English. She was trained in an eclectic approach, but frequently utilises CBT, EMDR and play therapy as therapeutic techniques. Although she works from a Christian ontological approach, she is respectful of other religious orientations and has worked successfully with such clients in the past.
